Paul introduces a number of points in Galatians 1, amongst introducing who he is and how he began as an apostle, one of the other points is the idea of the gospel, and if it is possible to have another gospel.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! (Galatians 1:6-9 NIV)
Paul is surprised at how much people in the Galatian church are turning away from the true gospel to turn to "another gospel" which is no gospel at all. For us today this is a severe warning any of us who preach or teach must watch our doctrine carefully and make sure that we do not fail, we don't want to fall under God's curse, it will be a terrible thing that we cannot bare. As someone who is a teacher of God's word I strongly feel Paul's warning and I must be careful to make sure that everything I do is according to the Gospel. I pray that God will lead me in this.
