OK So I know I'm a few days late but here it is the update from the past three months.
Ministry
This has been a hectic quarter. It's hard to believe I've now been at Bracken for three months, in many ways, as it feels like I only started yesterday. Yet Bracken has fast become home, and will literally become home as we move in to the parsonage in November and live on the church grounds. I've made a number of changes to the format of the youth & children's ministry here, and survived the battles. Thankfully after seeing things work out people seem to trust my judgement now which is nice, and I praise God for that.
Prayer: Praise God for this position, also ask for calm as I deal with some things, it can be tough in a new position to deal with unspoken expectations and I too often take things personally and can lash out at people, pray for me. Also pray for one of our youth, they've been struggling emotionally and it's something that I am just not equipped to deal with, please pray for them, that they will be able to go see the counselor that I suggested.
Family
July saw my family come out from Australia and it was fantastic to see everyone again and get to spend some time showing them my new home. Home life is doing well, Channing is settling in to her studies at UTSA, which is allowing us much more time together which is fantastic for our relationship. In other news, my Sister is getting married next year which will present us with an opportunity to head back to Australia, which should be a refreshing time.
Prayer: For my sister as she prepares for her marriage, pray for me that I will be a good husband to Channing.
Sport
I've really gotten back into running this quarter and I'm looking at the San Antonio Marathon on November 13th, with working for the church now I don't know what the future holds for my running, events are hard due to everything being on a Sunday morning so we will see. I've been attending American Football games lately as part of my UTSA coverage, the sport has its moments, and I can see the appeal but it's just not for me. As for Association Football I've been attending lots of college games here, and been having some good conversations about God with some students and SIDs at colleges so that's kind of cool. Lots of exciting things are happening on that front and all will be revealed in the future.
Prayer: Safety on my running & that I will keep my focus on God & Church and not sport.
So that's about all I've got for this quarter, hope all is well with all of you.
